WATCH: Trump holds Cabinet Meeting, secretaries report on progress

President Donald Trump held a Cabinet meeting at the White House Monday with all members of his Cabinet, along with Vice President JD Vance and DOGE leader Elon Musk.

After the private meeting concluded, reporters were then allowed into the room, where Trump went around the room and asked the Secretaries to share comments on the progress within their agencies.

President Trump first addressed the large number of companies moving back to the United States, providing jobs for Americans.

“Many companies are now moving into the United States … We have probably identified maybe $4 trillion worth of companies moving back or going to move back.”

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum shared a stunning report about $830 million that the Biden administration was wasting on contracts for useless surveys. These contracts have now been cancelled.

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins then announced, “We canceled a contract in New York educating transgender and queer farmers on food justice and food equality. I’m not even sure what that means but apparently the last administration wanted to put our taxpayer dollars towards that.”

Rollins added that her agency also cancelled a $600,000 contract in Louisiana that was studying the menstrual cycles of ‘transgender men,’ and another contract at a university that focused on getting more DEI in our ‘pest management industry.’

Elon Musk chimed in, adding, “In a clear case of fraud, was with the SBA where they were handing out loans to people under the age of 11—the youngest was a 9 month-old who got a $100k loan. That is a very precocious baby.” 😂

EPA Secretary Lee Zeldin added, “The EPA has now cancelled over $22 billion worth of contracts — $2 billion going to this NGO that Stacey Abrams was tied to. They received only $100 in 2023 and then the Biden administration gave them $2 billion — The director of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund saw his former employer get $5 billion — So $20 billion went to just eight NGOs.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the Justice Department will be going after those responsible for any fraud discovered by the DOGE efforts, and will be bringing back the death penalty for violent criminals.

Energy Secretary Chris Wright reported: “The Biden administration grew my department, the Department of Energy, by 20%… all in an effort to REDUCE the production of energy in the United States and to make energy more expensive… we want to reverse that trajectory…”

Referring to the upcoming tariffs, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said, “What is so exciting is April 2 is just around the corner and that is American Liberation Day. That is the day when the rest of the world starts to treat America with respect.”

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. vowed to redirect funds to scientists and patients, not bureaucrats, restore gold-standard science, and MAKE AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN.

Education Secretary Linda McMahon, whose department is being dismantled, said, “If we don’t address the issues in education now and start getting our scores up, where are we going to find our next generation and the generation after that? … We will go farther and farther down.”

Trump added, “I think it won’t be that long before the states will be really running the Department of Education. Our teachers are going to be taken very well care of… I think you’re going to see a tremendous change very quickly having to do with education.”

McMahon later wrote, “Just wrapped a productive Cabinet meeting with @POTUS & the great America First team he has assembled. We discussed with @elonmusk how we can continue to improve efficiency & cut bureaucracy alongside DOGE — a critical step in returning education authority to the states.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio also shared an update, and said, “The American people should be proud that we have a president that’s promoting peace and the end of conflict on this planet.”

Vice President JD Vance weighed in, saying, “When you think about what happened with the Abraham Accords, one of the great diplomatic breakthroughs under the first Trump administration — The Biden administration did absolutely nothing with it. Built on it not at all. Added zero additional countries. Purely out of political spite…”

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins also discussed egg prices coming down.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced, “We are re-privatizing the economy, we are bringing down government spending, we are bringing down excess employment in the government sector… We are going to re-leverage the banking system. We are going to have all the new manufacturing jobs… We are going to get the affordability crisis fixed.”

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy reported, “We have decades of ideas and billions of dollars, and no progress is ever made on any of these initiatives… we’re having a conversation about building a state-of-the-art, brand new… air traffic control system… I think, Mr. President, we can do it in 3 years.”

During a report on Border Security, President Trump said, “Yesterday, I was speaking to somebody, I was checking on the border and they said there was literally nobody on this massive plaza — A plaza that would hold hundreds of thousands of people — It’s been an amazing transformation very quickly.”
