Former President Donald Trump and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp met in Georgia on Friday, as they received a briefing on cleanup efforts after Hurricane Helene roared through the state two weeks ago.

Trump and Kemp then delivered remarks to the press in a joint appearance in Evans, Georgia.

Kemp said 33 Georgia residents lost their life due to the devastating hurricane.

Kemp also noted that the hurricane has wiped out much of the agriculture crops in Georgia.

Trump announced that Elon Musk will provide Georgia with dozens of Star-link terminals to help with the Hurricane Helene recovery.

Trump national press secretary Karoline Leavitt posted a photo of Trump and Kemp at the hurricane briefing.

“Trump and Kemp shake hands during a briefing in Georgia on Hurricane Helene damage. This is their first time together since before the 2020 election,” wrote CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.

Journalist George Behizy posted another photo and explained, “Trump is getting military salutes from the Georgia National Guard right now. They treat him like the President because they all know he’s more of a Commander-in-Chief than all the illegitimate frauds squatting at the White House right now.”

Trump took a few questions from reporters after his speech.  In response to one question about his campaign, Trump said, “I’m not thinking about voters right now. I’m thinking about lives.”

Former Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.) pointed out a major difference between Trump and Kamala Harris.

“Donald Trump launched a fundraiser to help hurricane victims. Kamala Harris raised money for a bail fund to let violent BLM rioters out of jail. They are not the same,” she wrote.
