WATCH: Trump and Vance say good-bye to Biden and Harris outside Capitol

Following President Donald J. Trump’s inauguration, a send-off ceremony was held in front of the U.S. Capitol for the outgoing administration, Joe and Jill Biden, and Kamala Harris and Doug Imhoff.

Following tradition, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, along with Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance all accompanied the Bidens, Harris and Emhoff at the bottom of the Capitol steps to say good-bye.

Then the Bidens were flown away by helicopter to Joint Base Andrews. From there, they will reportedly be flown by a “Special Air Mission” aircraft, typically used by the vice president, to Santa Ynez in Santa Barbara County, California for some “personal time.”

Biden gave a farewell speech at Joint Base Andrews and claimed, “We’re leaving office. But we’re not leaving the fight.”
