From Fox News: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., has crisscrossed the United States with Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., on the “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, and Americans are speculating about whether the New York Democrat is launching a shadow campaign for president.

Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign account posted a video on X this week that invigorated those rumors as the four-term Democrat from New York City and a progressive leader proclaimed, “We are one.”

“I’m a girl from the Bronx,” Ocasio-Cortez said on a campaign-style stage in Idaho. “To be welcomed here in this state, all of us together, seeing our common cause, this is what this country is all about.”

FiveThirtyEight founder and prominent pollster Nate Silver signaled earlier this month that Ocasio-Cortez is the leading Democrat to pick up the party’s presidential nomination in 2028. In a draft 2028 pick with FiveThirtyEight’s Galen Druke, Silver chose Ocasio-Cortez as his top choice to lead the Democratic Party’s presidential ticket.

AOC posted the video from her campaign account on X, ‘Team AOC.’

“Do not let them trick you into thinking we are enemies. Do not let them trick you into thinking that we can be separated into rural and urban, Black and white and Latino. We are one,” she wrote.

Another video the Democrat Socialist posted on April 15 also looks very much like a campaign announcement.

While speaking on Fox News’ Outnumbered show Friday morning, commentator Tomi Lahren explained why she believes AOC would not do well once she got on a debate stage.

Below are more responses pouring in on social media:

Substack writer Chris Cillizza warned, “I am telling you…she is running and she is going to be more formidable than some Democrats seem to think.”

Commentator Meghan McCain agreed, “She’s going to run and her message of economic populism is more powerful than people are giving her credit for.”

Cook Political Report publisher Amy Walter wrote, “I’m seeing a lot of folks comparing AOC to Obama in his early days. In 2006, lots of House Dems wanted Obama to campaign w/ them in their swing CDs. Will AOC get that same level of interest and asks? I’m skeptical.”
