WATCH: Schumer ripped over ‘tone-deaf’ comments on Australia terror attack

1

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is being blasted over comments he made during a press conference on Sunday, about the Islamic terror attack that occurred in Australia.

Two Muslim men, a father and son, opened fired on a large crowd of people on Bondi Beach in Sydney, as they were celebrating a Jewish holiday.  At least 15 are dead, and dozens were injured in the horrific massacre.

Schumer has prompted massive outrage over the way he addressed the attack, at the beginning of a press conference that was supposed to be about AI-driven price gouging.

“So first, I’m going to, of course, talk about Instacart and their ripping off the consumer. And then, of course, I’m going to say a few words about the terrible shooting in Sydney, Australia,” Schumer began.

Then, he adding the stunning remark: “And first, of course, as I always say, no matter what — go Bills. They beat the Patriots today. It’s a big deal!”

Podcaster Alec Lace shared a video of Schumer’s comment, and wrote, “TONE DEAF.”

More backlash pouring in….

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) demanded, “Retire. Immediately.”

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) wrote, “This is the best the Democrats can do?”

After Schumer’s appalling statement, he then turned around and criticized President Trump for posting an inappropriate comment on the death of his longtime critic, Rob Reiner.

“He knows no shame. A total jackass,” Schumer said of Trump.

Schumer also blasted Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) for voicing concern about Islamic terror.

“An outrageous, disgusting display of islamophobia from Sen. Tuberville. The answer to despicable antisemitism is not despicable islamophobia. This type of rhetoric is beneath a United States Senator – or any good citizen for that matter,” Schumer snarled.
