Former college swimmer and conservative activist Riley Gaines shared a personal story this week that reveals a major concern about America’s current LEGAL immigration system.
Gaines explained in a TikTok video on Tuesday that her husband, who she married over 2 and a half years ago, still hasn’t been approved for a green card – because he doesn’t have a Covid vaccine.
Gaines married British swimmer Louis Barker in 2022. The couple met in 2019 while they were both attending the University of Kentucky.
After a months-long application process, she said her husband finally received a letter from immigration services, which was a “request for evidence. They want his vaccination records.
The only vaccine he doesn’t have is the Covid vaccine.
However, Gaines noted that anyone who just illegally walks across the border isn’t required to have the Covid vaccine.
Elon Musk reposted the video on X and wrote, “Legal immigration to America is ridiculously slow & difficult, even for super talented people. Needs to be fixed.”

“My husband moved to America from England for college 6 years ago. We got married over 2.5 years ago. He STILL doesn’t have a green card because he won’t get the vaccine. They don’t force illegal immigrants to get the jab, just the legal ones,” Gaines also wrote in a post on X Monday.
