From Fox News: Democratic Party rising star Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, argued that Americans need illegal immigrants because they do the work that the college-educated in this country won’t do.
Crockett reportedly made the comments while speaking at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival on March 8.
In a video clip that went viral on Friday, Crockett made the point that Americans don’t send their kids to college in the hope that they’ll end up picking crops and cleaning hotel rooms, but that’s what illegal immigrants do.
“How many of you are sending your kids to college?” Crockett asked the crowd. “How many of you are sending your kids to college to go and work on the farms?”
Crockett told the crowd that the illegal aliens are needed to make this country great, because they are the ones who provide our food, make beds at hotels and build our houses – all jobs that “y’all don’t want to do.”
“These are the people who are really making us great in this country. They pay into taxes. And guess what? They’re not able to pull down on Social Security. So to have people going out disparaging them and targeting them, that is not what makes us great,” Crockett claimed.

Errin Haines, editor at The 19th News, was on stage with Crockett and originally posted a longer version of the video on Instagram on Wednesday, before it was later discovered and re-posted to X.

Crockett is being blasted on social media. One X user, “Deplorable Weirdo,” wrote:
So now the Democratic strategy is open borders for a permanent servant class? This race-baiting clown just admitted her party needs cheap, exploitable labor because their voters are too lazy, entitled, or useless to do real work. Imagine the outrage if a Republican said this – Democrats would be rioting in the streets. But when Crockett says it? Crickets.
She’s too stupid to realize she’s not just insulting illegal immigrants, she’s exposing the entire Democrat scam. Keep the border wide open, flood the country with illegals, and create a permanent underclass to do the jobs Democrats refuse to do. This isn’t just ignorance; it’s straight-up racism and elitism, and she’s too damn dumb to realize it.
Crockett is a national embarrassment, a loudmouthed, brain-dead disaster who perfectly represents the Democratic Party: no solutions, just stupidity, hypocrisy, and lies.
