Conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk appeared on the first episode of California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s new podcast, This is Gavin Newsom, and received some stunning news….
Newsom’s 13-year-old son is a fan of Kirk’s.
Newsom, a Democrat, touted that he wanted to interview people who he disagrees with on his new podcast. Charlie Kirk was the first.
It is being speculated that he is trying to posture himself as a ‘moderate’ in preparation for a potential presidential run.
In the interview, Newsom said his son learned he would be interviewing Kirk, and wanted to skip school in order to sit in on the interview. Newsom made him go to school anyway.
“My son really wanted to meet you,” Newsom said.
“You let him to take off school?” asked Kirk.
“No. Of course not. He’s not here for a good reason,” Newsom replied.
“Well you cancelled school for like two years, what’s one day going to do?” retorted Kirk, poking at Newsom over his draconian lockdowns during the Covid pandemic.
Newsom also admitted that Kirk is making a huge dent in pulling young people over to the right – even with his own son.
“You have expressed that I should be concerned as a Democrat, that we’re getting clobbered.. that you’ve figured something out,” Newsom admitted.

Kirk also announced, “I challenged Gavin Newsom to explain why California Dems cleaned up San Francisco for Xi Jinping. Gavin Newsom says I’m weaponizing the issue. I say regular Americans deserve clean streets, not just when Chinese dictators show up. Crime, chaos, and homelessness is a choice. San Francisco proves this.”

Kirk also schooled Newsom over Democrats “kicking out their best people”, referring to HHS Sec. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard as examples.
