After House Speaker Mike Johnson was voted back in to lead the 119th Congress on Friday, the next order of business was for Congress to vote on the new rules package.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) later posted a stunning video message on social media and revealed shocking language she found in the rules package that had been originally inserted when Democrats had control of the House and Nancy Pelosi was Speaker.

Prior to the vote on the rules package, Greene said she discovered Pelosi had established a “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” office, and had struck out all references to gender.  Words like “father,” “mother,” “brother,” “sister,” etc. had all been removed by Pelosi’s team.  Pelosi’s “gender inclusive language” had then replaced the gendered words with other words such as “parent,” “child,” “sibling,” etc.

Greene said she went to Johnson about her discovery and voiced her objections.  He agreed that it should be changed, and she, along with others, scrambled to get the wording revised before the vote.

“Republicans are back in charge, and we are going to do this right,” Greene declared, adding, “We are going to restore this country to traditional family values.”

Greene also declared that there will be specific rules, and there will be no biological men in women’s bathrooms and locker rooms in the Capitol.
