While speaking at a rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on Saturday, former President Donald Trump invited a man onto the stage who had immigrated to the U.S. from Venezuela.
The man, Daniel Campos, is a pilot who lives in Pennsylvania, and he shared a serious warning about where America is headed if the country continues on its current path.
Campos said he left Venezuela in 2007, due to communism overtaking the country.
He explained that his mother’s parents were from Cuba, and during the revolution, they fled to Venezuela to escape communism. His grandfather became a doctor, and they raised their family in Venezuela.
However, in the early 1990s when Hugo Chavez led a military coup against the Venezuelan government, and then later ran for president, Campos said his grandfather saw the similarities of what happened in Cuba, but no one believe his warning at first, claiming it could never happen there.
“So when they tell you here, ‘it will never happen,’ that’s not true. We lived it, now here we are,” Campos said.
“We are going on a path that is taking us to what Venezuela became. And the only way right now that we can avoid going down that path is making Trump president again,” he said.
