WATCH: Maine school board silences outspoken ‘MAGA’ parent

From Fox News: A school board meeting in Maine’s capital city of Augusta on Wednesday night featured a contentious interaction between a parent in a “MAGA” hat and the school board president over the state’s ongoing controversy over trans athlete inclusion in girls’ sports.

Augusta School Board Chair Martha Witham cut off community member Nick Blanchard while he discussed the controversial issue and a petition he launched to have Cony Middle and High School Principal Kim Liscomb removed from her position, as seen in footage of the meeting.

Liscomb is currently the president of the Maine Principals’ Association (MPA), which supports transgender athletes’ participation in school sports based on gender identity and has been a subject of scrutiny by President Donald Trump’s administration over the issue.

Blanchard, who showed up to the meeting in a “MAGA” hat and a T-shirt that read, “You’re fired,” started his speech by praising the six of the seven members of the board who voted to adopt the 2020 interpretation of Title IX that did not allow trans athletes to compete as girls.

Blanchard also condemned the board member who voted against it, which prompted the first interruption by Witham.

Witham snarled at Blanchard, informing him he couldn’t speak negatively about anyone, and repeatedly interrupted him.

“You’re done, Mr. Blanchard!” she yelled, shutting him down.

“Wow, communist China right here!” he retorted.

Blanchard appears to be a frequent speaker at the school board meetings.  The following two incidents are worth a watch:

In a video posted on February 27, he demands, “When are we going to start to thinking about our kids again. When are we going to go back to teaching again? We worry more about same-sex bathrooms and all this than we worry about our test scores… honestly, you guys are brainwashing these kids! You’re indoctrinating these kids.”

“When I was in school this was not a thing. You did not walk down hallways seeing pride flags. You weren’t celebrating what people did in their bedrooms… you don’t have a straight flag hanging up! We don’t celebrate what we do in our bedroom. That doesn’t make somebody who they are. What makes somebody who they are is their character!” he added.

“Daddy’s home!” he declared, referring to President Trump being back in office.

In another EPIC performance on February 1, Blanchard starts out by playing an audio from his phone of President Trump discussing his executive order while he hands out copies to each board member. He also places a little statue of Trump on the podium.
