Former President Trump brings his showmanship to his long-anticipated campaign rally at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday, drawing a sea of thousands of supporters.
Targeting New York, a state that last backed a Republican in 1984, Trump joins a tradition of campaign rallies at Madison Square Garden. Alabama Gov. George Wallace held a rally there in 1968 before Nixon’s win. Nixon himself hosted a Halloween rally at the Garden, and Presidents Lyndon Johnson and Dwight Eisenhower also campaigned there in the 1950s and ’60s.
So far, speakers for tonight’s event include the following:
