President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are participating in the annual National Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at The Ellipse at President’s Park in Washington, D.C. Thursday evening.
The tree, a 35-foot spruce from the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest in Virginia, is covered with thousands of lights and decorations. It is an annual tradition for the U.S. President and First Lady to light the tree. This is the 103rd annual Christmas tree lighting.
Several groups, including the Beach Boys, Alana Springsteen and Brett Young, are scheduled to perform at the event.
