Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is appearing before the House Homeland Security Committee at 10:00 a.m. ET Thursday morning, for the annual hearing on “worldwide threats” to the Homeland.
Also testifying in the hearing will be Director of the National Counterterrorism Center Joe Kent and FBI official Michael Glasheen.
The hearing comes as many Democrats have been fuming over the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration and efforts to deport illegal alien criminals.
It was just announced Wednesday that Noem has approved a $143 million contract for six Boeing 737 jets to be used to deport illegal aliens. In the past, DHS has relied almost exclusively on charter jets for deportation flights.
Thursday morning’s hearing is expected to get fiery, with attacks from Democrats, as well as hecklers in the room. One heckler was heard yelling, “You are a disgrace!” when Noem walked into the room ahead of the hearing.
