Monday night, on her last day of campaigning for the Oval Office, Democrat Kamala Harris went out on a door-knocking photo-op in Reading, Pennsylvania.
C-Span posted two videos on social media, as Harris approached at least two Democrat-friendly homes in the dark.
The couples in both homes had clearly already been alerted that a candidate was coming and were ready and waiting. However, they voiced their surprise at seeing Harris, and one man was heard saying they thought it might be Democrat Gov. Josh Shapiro who was coming.
In the first video, a couple and their son were waiting on their front porch when Harris arrived.
After greeting them, Harris then stammered awkwardly, “I want a door knock.”
“Oh, you want a door knock?” the man responds.
So they all head over to their front door so Harris can stage the act of knocking on their door.

In the second stop, Harris gets her “door knock,” as she walks up to the door and rings the bell.
A couple comes to the door and voices their ‘surprise’ at seeing Kamala Harris at their door, and assures her they will vote for her.
Conveniently, the woman tells Harris that she will be working the voting booth on Tuesday and is one of the “major inspectors.”

The staged door-knocks are being met with mockery on social media. Below are just some of the comments pouring in:
Cringeworthy theater.
Totally not staged. Nope. Absolutely spontaneous. No foolery here. 100% legit.
Everything they do is staged. Cringe.
This is desperation.
Is this a SNL skit?
FIXED IT: VP Harris STAGING knocking on doors in Reading, PA.
Just a spontaneous thing … sure.
Totally random house… for sure.
