From Fox News: Hundreds of mourners attended a memorial service and prayer vigil for Charlie Kirk at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., on Sunday night to honor the political activist’s legacy after an assassin’s bullet took his life last week.

Lines of people, many of whom were wearing black or shirts and pins with the word “freedom,” were seen waiting to enter. Inside, young children were seen running up and down the aisles as their parents sang praise and worship songs at the faith-filled memorial, where top Republican leaders, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, delivered remarks.

“It’s been a mixture of unspeakable sadness and grief and anger and even fear,” Johnson said. “It’s as if a dark shadow was cast over our country.”

Johnson added that he believes Kirk “would never want us to be overcome by despair, he would want exactly the opposite.”

Other speakers at the service included White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Leavitt said in her speech, “When so many influential voices in our society are brainwashing young people to abandon our faith, to stay single, not to have children, and to bash our country, Charlie Kirk offered us an alternative path. Charlie embraced our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and proclaimed the gospel boldly and proudly… Charlie celebrated American exceptionalism.”

Trump advisor Alex Bruesewitz shared an emotional video of the entire crowd singing Amazing Grace.

In another powerful tribute, the crowd sang, “I have decided to follow Jesus… no turning back, no turning back.”

National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard said, “Charlie Kirk, every single day, carried out his mission, motivated by his faith in Jesus Christ and his unwavering dedication to defending our God-given freedoms enshrined in our Constitution and Bill of Rights.”

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said, “Charlie Kirk gave his life so that the rest of us would not have to suffer fates worse than death. Now it’s our job, since he’s no longer there to lead us, to rush in and fill the breach, and win this battle for Country, for God and for our families.”

Richard Grenell, who serves as Special Presidential Envoy for Special Missions for the Trump administration, wrote, “A Kennedy on stage at the Kennedy Center giving thanks to Charlie Kirk for brokering his relationship with @realDonaldTrump is exactly what our country needs right now.”

There was an endless line of people waiting to get in to the event at the Kennedy Center Sunday evening.

Below is a video of the entire event in Washington, D.C. Sunday evening. The first 30 minutes include a video tribute to Charlie.

Vigils are being held for Charlie Kirk across the nation, including one in Huntington Beach, California Sunday night.
