President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted the annual White House Easter Egg Roll Monday morning, where an estimated 40,000 people were expected to participate in the event throughout the day.

The event started with the President and First Lady walking out of the White House onto the balcony, followed by the Easter Bunny who waved to the crowd.

A member of the U.S. Marines then joined them on the balcony to sing the National Anthem.

During his remarks to kick off the event, President Trump said, “We’re honoring Jesus Christ, and we’re going to honor Jesus Christ very powerfully throughout our lives, all throughout our lives — not just now. All throughout our lives.”

“We’re bringing religion back in America. We’re bringing a lot of things back, but religion is coming back to America. That’s why you see the kind of numbers that you see, the spirit and the kind of numbers that you see. So we’re going to come down and join you right now, but I just want to wish everybody, once again, happy Easter and enjoy your lives. We’re going to have our great four years. Thank you very much, everybody,” the president added.

The President gave a special shout-out to the First Lady for organizing the event.

Trump announced that he has ordered the U.S. flags to be lowered to half-staff as a tribute to the Pope, who had just passed away hours earlier.

Hand in hand, they walked down the steps to join the crowd after the president’s remarks.

President Trump and First Lady Melania blew the whistles, and the kids were off to the races.

A reporter asked, Trump, “You talked about Jesus in your opening statement. How important is it for this country right now?”

Trump replied, “It’s very important, it brings the country together. Bring religion back. Religion keeps you together.”

Trump and Melania each joined several children sitting at picnic tables as they worked on a coloring project.

Easter Bunny reacts when Trump takes a dig at Joe Biden

“Remember when the bunny took Joe Biden out? He’s not taking Trump out,” Trump joked.

The Easter Bunny reacted by putting his hands over his face and shaking his head in a comical moment.

Trump was referring to the moment at the White House Egg Roll in 2022 when the Easter Bunny ushered Biden away from the crowd, telling him where to go.

In another moment, President Trump and the First Lady were seen standing with some of Trump’s grandchildren.

“You know what that is? That’s the Fake News… They have good days and they have bad days,” Trump joked to his grandchildren.

Monday night, First Lady Melania Trump shared photos on social media and wrote, “It was a beautiful day at the @WhiteHouse, filled with joy & laughter as children from across the nation gathered to celebrate Easter traditions.
