Conservatives reacted in outrage and disgust after Joe Biden handed out Presidential Medals of Freedom – the highest civilian award – during a ceremony on Saturday to some of the most controversial Democrats, including Hillary Clinton and George Soros.
Donald Trump Jr. shared a video on social media of a real hero from Lafayette, Indiana who he said should have received the prestigious award.
The video was originally shared by X user “Bodycam Videos,” who explained:
“A 25-year-old pizza delivery driver rushes into a burning house to save four children. After rescuing them, the kids inform him that another child is still inside. Without hesitation, he reenters the flames, finds the girl, and leaps out of a window with her in his arms. He then carries her to a police officer, whose bodycam captures the heroic moment.”
The frightening incident happened in July 2022, when Nick Bostic, then 25, a pizza delivery driver, drove past a two-story home engulfed in flames, and stopped to help. He ended up saving the lives of 5 children, and had to jump through a second story window with the last child in his arms.
The bodycam footage shows the aftermath, as rescuers arrived and ended up treating Bostic for his injuries.

Trump Jr. re-posted the video and wrote, “This guy deserves the presidential medal of freedom… Not the clowns like Soros and the others who got it from Biden this week.”

Meanwhile, Bostic is blown away by Donald Trump Jr’s suggestion. In a a Facebook post he wrote:
“YO LETS GOOOO, THE BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT OF MY LIFE, DONALD J TRUMP JR JUST RETWEETED ABOUT IT, and ELON MUSK AGREED WITH HIM, TRUMP JR SAID I DESERVE THE PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM, CHECK IT OUT ON “X” AKA TWITTER, LOOKUP DONALD TRUMP JR AND GO TO HIS 2ND POST FROM THE MOST RECENT, HE SAID I DESERVE THE PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL, THIS IS INSANE LETS GOOOOOO, BIG DUB HERE BOYS BIG “W”!!”
In another post, Bostic added:
Man, I can’t sleep, I been up all night! I still can’t believe Donald J Trump Jr tweeted I should get the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and Elon agreed by commenting “Yeah”, if anyone doesn’t know and wants to know, The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the highest civilian award of the United States, alongside the Congressional Gold Medal.
It is an award bestowed by decision of the president of the United States to “any person recommended to the President for award of the Medal or any person selected by the President upon his own initiative,”[3] and was created to recognize people who have made “an especially meritorious contribution to (1) the security or national interests of the United States, or (2) world peace, or (3) cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.”[4]
The award is not limited to U.S. citizens, and, while it is a civilian award, it can also be awarded to military personnel and worn on the uniform. It was established in 1963 by President John F. Kennedy, superseding the Medal of Freedom that was initially established by President Harry S. Truman in 1945 to honor civilian service.
