WATCH: Hegseth lays out bold new standards for combat forces in U.S. military

There will be no more weirdos and no more beard-o’s in the U.S. military, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced on Tuesday.

From the New York Post: War Secretary Pete Hegseth harangued a near-unprecedented gathering of America’s top generals and admirals Tuesday, announcing that “dudes with dresses” were not welcome in US combat forces — and the rest must meet “male-level” fitness standards to face “life and death” situations.

If women — and “weak men” — don’t make the grade, “so be it,” Hegseth said in remarks at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia.

“Frankly, it’s tiring to look out at combat formations — and frankly any formations — and see fat troops,” he went on. “It’s unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon, and leading all around the world. It’s a bad look, and it’s not who we are!”

“No more identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses, no more climate change worship, no more division, distraction or gender delusion, no more debris. I’ve said before and will say again, we are done with that s—,” he said.

Mincing no words, Hegseth said all combat personnel will be required to meet the highest male standard, and must participate in “real hard” physical training every day and undergo two tests each year to make sure they meet the requirements.

“We’re training warriors, not defenders. We fight wars to win, not to defend. Defense is something you do all the time, it’s inherently reactionary and can lead to overuse, overreach, and mission creep. War is something you do sparingly, on our own terms and with clear aims,” Hegseth said.

He continued, saying, “We fight to win. We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy. We also don’t fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement, just common sense, maximum lethality and authority for warfighters.”

“This is NOT about preventing women from serving,” Hegseth clarified, adding, “But when it comes to any job that requires physical power to perform in combat, those physical standards must be high and gender-neutral. If women can make it, excellent. If not, it is what it is… if that means no women qualify for some combat jobs, so be it. That is not the intent, but it could be the result. It will also mean that weak men won’t qualify — because we’re not playing games. This is combat. This is life or death.”

Hegseth also announced new grooming standards, including no more beards.
