Democrat 2024 presidential candidate Kamala Harris finally sat down for a live (pre-recorded) interview with CNN host Dana Bash on Thursday.
For support, Harris took along her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
The full interview, which will presumedly be edited, is set to air on CNN Thursday night at 9:00 pm ET, but short clips have already been released.
Bash asked Harris whether she has flip-flopped on some of her positions, and then made suggestions for a response.
“Generally speaking, how should voters look at some of the changes that you’ve made — that you’ve explained some of here — in your policy, is it because you have more experience now and you’ve learned more about the information, is it because you were running for president in a Democratic primary? And should they feel comfortable and confident that what you’re saying now is going to be your policy moving forward?”
Harris claimed that her values haven’t changed, even if some of her positions have.
“I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed. You’ve mentioned the Green New Deal, I have always believed, and I have worked on it, that the climate crisis is real, that it is an urgent matter, to which we should apply metrics that include holding ourselves to deadlines around time. We did that with the Inflation Reduction Act. We have set goals for the United States of America, and, by extension, the globe, around when we should meet certain standards for a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, as an example, that value has not changed,” she rambled.
“My value around what we need to do to secure our border, that value has not changed. I spent two terms as the attorney general of California prosecuting transnational criminal organization[s], violations of American laws regarding the passage — illegal passage of guns, drugs, and human beings across our border. My values have not changed,” Harris added.

The Trump War Room reacted: “Kamala Harris confirms she’s still her Radical Left self who supports decriminalizing illegal immigration, the job-killing Green New Deal, eliminating private health insurance, banning fracking, and so much more.”
Harris rambling about climate change is drawing widespread mockery. “That the climate crisis is real. That it is an urgent matter to which we should apply metrics that including holding ourselves to deadlines around time…” she said.
Steve Cortes wrote, “Kamala Harris speaks like a toddler. This woman has no idea what she’s saying. No wonder they’ve prevented her from doing any interviews…”

When Harris and Walz arrived for the interview at a location in Savannah, Georgia, she was met by a crowd of supporters, along with a number of Trump supporters holding Trump signs and chanting, “Trump! Trump! Trump!”

Trump advisor Jason Miller announced, “Hearing that @CNN will NOT be releasing the full transcript of all 18-minutes (total) of the interview with Kamala Harris and Human Blocking Dummy Coach Walz. What’s being cut out???”
Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk reacted, “Kamala waited 40 days to give an interview, refused to do it live, needed her lapdog Tim Walz there as an emotional support animal, and now it’s reportedly just 18 minutes long with the transcript edited down for broadcast? Is this a joke?”
“Kamala Harris isn’t ready. You don’t need us to tell you. Every decision her campaign makes is screaming it from the rooftops,” Kirk added.

Trump’s running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance, mocked Harris’s CNN interview by jokingly posting a video clip from a 2007 Miss Teen USA pageant, as then-Miss South Carolina Teen USA Lauren Caitlin Upton gave a rambling response to a question about why one-fifth of Americans can’t find the U.S. on a map.
“BREAKING: I have gotten ahold of the full Kamala Harris CNN interview,” Vance mocked.

Prominent X user “Amuse” mocked, “INTERVIEW: It did not go well. Truncated to 18 minutes. Will not release transcript. CNN will air shortened version tonight at 8PM CST. To fill the time CNN may run an inspirational video about Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”

In comparison…. Dana Bash interviewed Sen. JD Vance earlier this month, and spent a majority of the time asking him about comments he made three years ago, instead of focusing on real policy, and he called her out for it. WATCH:
