In a heartbreaking video posted to Instagram Monday evening, Erika Kirk shared a beautiful moment between her late husband, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, and their 3-year-old daughter.
Kirk, 31, was horrifically assassinated while speaking at a collage campus event in Utah on Wednesday, September 10. His wife, Erika, is now left to raise their 3-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son alone.
Erika posted the video Monday evening and wrote, “My favorite love story.”
In the video, Charlie is playfully telling their daughter how he met her mother.
They were sitting in a restaurant, which he said was Bill’s Burgers in New York City. He said, “Right here at this very table was the first time Dada met Mama.”
It started as a job interview, he explained. But as they discussed multiple issues including philosophy, religion and Jesus, the interview took a turn.
“Then I realized Mama was beautiful and smart and elegant and Christ-like, and I said, ‘Forget this job interview…. I want to date you.'”
“And that’s where your journey started,” he told his daughter.
