WATCH: Dr. Oz drops bombshell report on massive hospice and home care fraud scheme in California

Dr. Mehmet Oz, who is currently serving in the Trump administration as Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, is out on a mission to hunt down the fraudsters who are ripping off American taxpayers.

Last week, Oz focused on Minnesota, where multiple fraud schemes involving the Somali migrant community have recently come to light.

In a video posted on January 23, Oz stood outside a large building that formerly housed a linen factory and has been converted to an office building. He said the building now housed roughly 400 “Medicaid businesses,” which raked in nearly $400 million in billings to the federal government. He implied the whole thing was one massive fraud scheme.

Next, Dr. Oz went to Los Angeles, California, and began sounding the alarm over a huge hospice fraud scheme, organized by foreign mobsters.

In a new video shared on Tuesday, Oz announced, “L.A. County has become an epicenter for health care fraud in America. Criminals have corrupted the system so much that fraud is now almost expected. President Trump has made it clear: we will not tolerate the patient harm or taxpayer funded theft any longer. More to come.”

He explained that there were 42 “hospice centers” in a 4-block area. “Either there are a lot of people dying here, or you’ve got fraudulent activity that is so good everyone wants to get in on it,” Oz declared.

He referenced one fraudster who stole $60 million, and was only sentenced to 2 years in jail. “They weren’t performing any services. They just got an address that they claimed was a hospice and claimed people were home getting services,” he explained.

Oz said the entire hospice and home care fraud scheme in Los Angeles has raked in about $3.5 BILLION in taxpayer funds, and said it was run by a mob from Russia and Armenia.

In another video announcement, Dr. Oz said California is already paying back $1.6 billion that they previously charged to the federal government for healthcare services given to illegal aliens.

But now he said, California has a bigger fraud problem. He shared a copy of a letter he just fired off to Gov. Gavin Newsom demanding that the governor produce an action plan to address major fraud within their healthcare system, within the next three weeks.

WATCH:

Governor Newsom’s press office responded by MOCKING Dr. Oz for highlighting the fraud, and wrote, “Amazing to watch Dr. Oz cosplay as a fraud fighter for an effort the STATE launched years ago — back when he was busy pitching “miracle” horse supplements to insomniacs on late-night TV. @CAGovernor Gavin Newsom BANNED all new hospices beginning in 2022 and revoked 280+ licenses. DR. OZ, PLEASE SAY THANK YOU!”

Dr. Oz fired right back, “Gavin, saw you in the back of the room cosplaying as a global leader at Davos last week. Seems like you might need to double down on your efforts at home—Californians deserve better than this defensive acknowledgment that you’ve known about the rampant fraud in your state for years but haven’t done much about it.”

“A surgeon’s training is to identify and cut out rot. We can get California back on track. That is what you want, isn’t it? Here to help. Check your email.”
