Country music star Jason Aldean, who has endorsed former President Donald Trump and performed at the Republican National Convention in July, delivered a brief but moving speech at a campaign event for Trump in Duluth, Georgia on Wednesday.
“Not only is Trump is an amazing leader, but I’ve had the pleasure of becoming friends with him over the past few years,” Aldean said.
He added that he wanted to share some personal stories “about the man he is when the cameras are not rolling.”
Aldean told about an incident when Trump chatted with men working at a golf course, and quietly just handed them cash, without the cameras ever catching it.
He then mentioned the millions Trump has raised to help the recent hurricane victims, and said, “When nobody else was doing anything, President Trump stepped up to help… to me it helped to show what kind of person he is.”
“I’ve seen firsthand how the media can twist the truth,” Aldean said, recalling how he was attacked when he released his viral song, “Try That In A Small Town.”
“No one is on the receiving end of lies and fake news more than President Trump… he endures more than the average person can fathom, and the fact that he doesn’t need to be here but chooses to be here says everything I need to know,” Aldean said.
“He’s a president who when knocked down, gets back up, raises his fist in the air and says ‘fight,’” Aldean said of Trump, adding, “And to me that’s a warrior. That’s who we need running this country right now.”

On the day Trump was shot at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Aldean posted the iconic photo of Trump with his fist raised in the air and wrote, “This is what a Warrior looks like! This is MY guy 🇺🇸. @realdonaldtrump we are thinking about u and praying for you and your family. God has a bigger plan for you my friend and I think we all know what that is by now. My heart goes out to the victims families as well. They are the ones left to pick up the pieces of this cowardly act.”
