During the opening night of his “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour in Manchester, England, Bruce Springsteen delivered a fiery critique of former President Donald Trump, labeling his administration as “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous.”

In response, President Trump took to his Truth Social platform to launch a rebuke of Springsteen. He dismissed the rock legend as “highly overrated” and “dumb as a rock,” criticizing his music and political views. Trump also targeted Springsteen’s support for Democratic figures like Kamala Harris and warned the musician to “keep his mouth shut” until returning to the United States.

Springsteen’s comments received mixed reactions. Leftist supporters praised his courage to speak out against what they perceive as threats to democracy, while critics accused him of being unpatriotic for criticizing the president on foreign soil. Some commentators argued that artists should refrain from political commentary during international performances, suggesting that such actions could harm the country’s image abroad.

The feud between Springsteen and Trump is not new. Springsteen has been a vocal critic of Trump since his first term, previously endorsing Democratic candidates and participating in campaign events. His latest remarks continue a pattern of using his platform to promote social activism through music.

As the tour continues across Europe, it remains to be seen how this public spat will influence both Springsteen’s performances and the broader discourse on the intersection of politics and entertainment.
