From the New York Post: Vice President Kamala Harris showed her true colors Thursday in her first TV interview since becoming the Democratic nominee – insisting her lefty “values have not changed” even though her positions on major policies have.

In a sitdown with CNN, Harris, 59, defended various backtracks when asked if voters can know what they’re getting — as Republicans question the sincerity of her pivots to the political center on immigration, healthcare and energy policy ahead of the Nov. 5 election.

“I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed,” Harris told Dana Bash in her first sit-down since President Biden dropped out of the race on July 21.

The vice president used the phrase repeatedly through the nearly hour-long interview to defend herself against allegations of political opportunism.

Below are just some of the pledges Harris made in 2019 during her previous presidential campaign, that she has now flip-flopped on:

  • Eliminate private health insurance
  • Decriminalize illegal border crossings
  • Ban fracking for oil and natural gas
  • Ban the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035

Clips from the interview with Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz, which CNN aired Thursday night, are going viral, as Republicans are ripping it to shreds. The Trump campaign posted multiple video clips of the interview, and included their commentary.

“If you are elected, what would you do on Day One in the White House?” Bash asked Harris in the first softball question.

Harris said, “First and foremost, one of my highest priorities is to do what we can to strengthen and support the middle class,” and added that “people are ready for a new way forward.”

“Kamala is in office RIGHT NOW and the middle class are suffering more than ever,” the Trump War Room fired back.

After Harris rambled about her goals, Bash called her out, saying, “You have been Vice President for three and half years. The steps that you are talking about now, why haven’t you done them already?”

Harris insisted that “Bidenomics” is a success.

Bash: “What do you say to voters who want to go back because their groceries were less expensive and housing was more affordable when Donald Trump was president?”

Kamala: “You are right. Prices are too high.”

Kamala Harris’s response to being asked why she presided over a record number of illegal border crossings: “The root causes were that I did as Vice President that I was asked to do by the president has actually resulted in a number of benefits…”

“Kamala then continues to profess support for a bill that would’ve granted mass amnesty. You can’t make this up,” the Trump War Room quipped.

Former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer wrote, “She was the “stem the flow” czar. That was the assignment Biden gave her. “Stem the flow” were Biden’s words. Why is Dana talking around this? Harris failed the biggest assignment she had. Now she wants a bigger one.”

Kamala refuses to say whether she’d legalize crossing the border illegally:

Bash asked Harris about the Israel-Hamas war. Harris said Israel has a right to defend itself, “but how it does so matters.”

Kamala: “We have to get a deal done. This war must end.”

Does she realize that she’s been the Vice President of the United States for the entire duration of the war?

Kamala says she has NO REGRETS about covering up Crooked Joe Biden’s obvious cognitive decline — and LYING to the American people.

Harris: “No, not at all. He is so smart and loyal to the American people. He has the intelligence, the commitment, judgment and disposition the American people deserve – by contrast the former president has none of that.”

Kamala (who carried out the palace coup to supplant Biden) says her first thought after Biden told her he’d drop out “wasn’t about her.”

Riiiiight…

“Now you see why they kept Kamala hidden for 40 days…” quipped the Trump War Room.

Trump campaign adviser Tim Murtaugh noted, “This interview is so freaking short that CNN has to pad it out with packages from the campaign trail.”

The MAGA War Room joked, “Hope you guys enjoyed this Kamala interview because they’re not going to let her do this again.”

“BORING!!!” Trump wrote on social media.

To fill up the last 10 minutes of the hour, CNN brought on a panel of commentators to hash over what Harris just said. The liberal panelists glossed it up as well as they could, but admitted that Harris may not have gained anything from it.
