From the New York Post: Over 80 people were arrested as a massive anti-ICE protest in Lower Manhattan Tuesday devolved into chaos with shrieking, sign-holding demonstrators flooding the streets, clashing with cops and hurling objects at officers.
Thousands of angry New Yorkers took to the streets near Foley Square in the shadow of City Hall to protest the Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportations ongoing in the city and throughout the country.
As the sky grew dark, over 80 demonstrators were taken into custody by the NYPD at several locations across downtown in the area surrounding Federal Plaza, according to police sources.
The number of arrests is expected to grow.
The wild melee started earlier in the day, as a massive crowd of anti-ICE protesters flooded the street, blocking traffic.
The mob was carrying signs with anti-ICE messages, including, “Abolish ICE” and “ICE out of New York!” They also chanted phrases such as, “Brick by brick, wall by wall, this racist system has got to fall!”

Some people were carrying Mexican flags, some were wearing Palestinian garb, and a gay pride flag was seen in the mix as well.

Journalist Savanah Hernandez reported, “NYC anti-ICE march has shut down several blocks of traffic and drivers are starting to get pissed. People starting to exit their vehicles begging to be let through so they can go to work.
“One woman stating she has a child to care for and another was trying to take her special needs son to therapy. Protesters told them “too bad”.”

The mob reportedly swarmed the Manhattan Federal Building, and tried to block the exits, preventing ICE vehicles from driving away with detained illegal aliens.
The violence escalated, as the rioters threw water bottles and other items at police. Multiple journalists noted that Manhattan had turned into a “war zone.”

Journalist Savanah Hernandez posted a video and explained, “After 3 hours of blocking traffic, NYPD is finally making arrests of protesters. These pro-Mexico protesters have been taunting NYPD, throwing water at them and have been stalling traffic since 6pm. Multiple arrests have been made after many warnings.”
