From the New York Post: Terrifying doorbell video has captured the moment a Florida couple was ambushed, shot and robbed just outside their home after hitting a slot machine jackpot at a casino.

Kim Chambliss and her boyfriend Val Delacruz were targeted by two masked assailants soon after they cashed their $3,300 winnings at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa on Aug. 2, Fox 13 reported.

The two alleged perps — later identified as Marcus Jenkins, 34, and Tristin Wright, 36 — had watched the couple gamble and play the slots for roughly two hours before tailing them home just before 5 a.m., cops said.

The suspects allegedly opened fire on the unsuspecting couple in their driveway after demanding they cough up their winnings.

The thugs shot Chambliss in her calf on one leg, and shot Delacruz in both legs, leaving him lying outside on the porch, begging for his life. Then they shot him again.

“I ran and I fell in the door and the other guy came out and shot me again for the third time in my left leg,” Delacruz recalled.

After stealing the couple’s cash, a watch and a purse, the suspects fled.  Police were able to identify them and arrest them after viewing surveillance footage from the casino.

“We’re just average people, you know, who are out having a good time, you know, who love each other and enjoying each other’s company,” Chambliss said, adding, “And to know that we didn’t even realize that people were following us every step of the way. It’s scary. It’s scary.”

At a press conference on Thursday, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd announced that they had just arrested one of the suspects, Marcus Jenkins, on July 6, when he was passed out in a vehicle in the drive-through lane at Taco Bell.

Jenkins was jailed on a $25,000 bond.  Three days later, Jenkins posted bond and got out of jail.  Less than a month later, Jenkins and Wright followed the couple home from a casino and shot them on their front door step.

Sheriff Judd then dropped the bombshellJenkins has 53 previous felony charges, and 18 previous misdemeanor charges, for a total of 71 criminal charges. He’s also been to state prison five times.

“He’s a slow learner…. now he needs to be sent to prison for the rest of his life,” Judd declared.
