From Fox News: Whistleblowers have told Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., that Secret Service personnel are “woefully unprepared” and given inadequate training to properly protect candidates – including former President Trump – in new claims regarding the assassination attempt against the Republican presidential nominee.

Hawley appeared on “Jesse Watters Primetime” Tuesday night to reveal whistleblowers’ claims that when Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents were reassigned to work on the protective details, they were given a single two-hour webinar on Microsoft Teams.

The videos were pre-recorded, with whistleblowers allegedly saying that the videos were riddled with technical mishaps.

“Imagine 1,000 people logging onto Microsoft Teams at the same time after being informed at the last minute that everyone needed to login individually,” one whistleblower told Hawley. “Once it got rolling, the Secret Service instructor couldn’t figure out how to get the audio working on the prerecorded videos [which I’m told are the same videos as last year]. All told, they restarted the videos approximately six times …. The content was not helpful.”

The whistleblowers also told Hawley that no updates have been made to the two-hour webinars trainings since the July 13 assassination attempt against Trump at the Butler rally.

Tuesday evening, Hawley posted a letter, and wrote, “My letter to Secret Service Director Rowe detailing new whistleblower allegations that Homeland Security agents working the Butler Trump rally received only “webinar” training beforehand.”

Hawley was then interviewed by Fox News host Jesse Watters Tuesday night.

“Most of the agents there that day were not Secret Service agents. They were Homeland Security agents,” Hawley revealed.

“I’m told that actually Homeland Security agents were pulled off child exploitation cases, child endangerment cases… they don’t normally do protective detail work at all… they were pulled off those cases and told, ‘You’re going to go guard the former President of the United States, watch this webinar, oops it doesn’t really work, go out into the field anyway,'” Hawley told Watters.

“This is a nightmare, and we still have no answers. The only reason we know about this stuff is because of whistleblowers,” he added.

“People have got to get fired for this!” Hawley declared.

Fox News also published a response from Secret Service, in which they did not deny any of the allegations, but simply stated that their agency “respects the role of oversight. To date, we have provided over 1,500 pages of responsive documentation to Congress and have made employees available for transcribed interviews. These efforts will continue as our desire to learn from this failure and ensure that it never happens again is unwavering.”
