From the New York Post: Former President Donald Trump revealed a new tax break policy aimed at family caregivers at the start of his address to a packed Madison Square Garden Sunday night.
“I’m announcing a new policy today that I will support a tax credit for family caregivers who take care of a parent or a loved one,” the 45th president announced to some 20,000 supporters.
Trump added it’s time to “recognize” these workers after his campaign previously pledged to step up for seniors and the family members who care for them.
Policy documents released during the Republican National Convention in July mentioned that Trump promises to protect and bolster Medicare while focusing on at-home care for older Americans.
In a statement to USA Today on Friday, Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt explained that Trump “will take care of our seniors by shifting resources back to at-home senior care, overturning disincentives that lead to care worker shortages, and supporting unpaid family caregivers through tax credits and reduced red tape.”
