VIDEO: Trump sounds alarm over agenda of London’s mayor… the mayor responds

During his bold address before the United Nations General Assembly Tuesday morning, President Trump called out London over their muslim mayor, Sadiq Khan, and warned that he is wanting to establish Sharia law.

Khan, 54, a member of the far-left Labour Party, has been mayor of London since May 2016, and has repeatedly clashed with Trump.  He was born in London to a Pakistani family and raised as a Sunni Muslim.

When President Trump was honored with a state visit in Britain last week, Khan was not invited to the banquet, at the request of Trump.

As the longest-serving mayor of London, Khan just won his third 4-year term in May 2024.  There is currently no limit on how many terms an individual can serve as mayor in London.

“I have to say, I look at London, where you have a terrible mayor… a terrible, terrible mayor, and it’s been so changed, so changed. Now they want to go to Sharia Law, but you’re in a different country. You can’t do that,” Trump said in his speech on Tuesday, as he was warning about the dangers of open borders.

“Both the immigration and their suicidal energy ideas will be the death of Western Europe if something is not done immediately. This cannot be sustained,” he continued.

“What makes the world so beautiful is that each country is unique, but to stay this way, every sovereign nation must have the right to control their own borders…. and to limit the sheer numbers of migrants entering their countries,” Trump warned.

“Proud nations must be allowed to protect their communities and prevent their societies from being overwhelmed by people they’ve never seen before with different customs and religions,” he added, warning about the dangers of mass migration completely destroying the culture of free countries.

Ironically, as Trump was delivering his warning about London’s mayor, New York City is poised to elect a very similar candidate, Democrat socialist Zohran Mamdani. If he wins, Mamdani will be the first muslim mayor of New York City.

In response to Trump’s comments, Khan’s office told the New York Times it would not “dignify his appalling and bigoted comments with a response” but added, “London is the greatest city in the world, safer than major U.S. cities, and we’re delighted to welcome the record number of U.S. citizens moving here.”

Khan also fired back by sharing a poster declaring London the “greatest city in the world.”

“I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. Ignore the haters, London is the 🐐,” Khan claimed defiantly.
