From Fox News: President Donald Trump said Friday that his Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, is wrong about Iran’s nuclear threat.
Asked what intelligence supports his claim that Iran is close to building a nuclear weapon, Trump told reporters: “Well, then my intelligence community is wrong. But when the intelligence community said that, your Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, she’s wrong.”
Trump repeated his belief that Iran is nearing nuclear capability, saying, “I think within a matter of weeks, or certainly within a matter of months, they were going to be able to have a nuclear weapon.”
Trump’s remarks show a clear split with his intelligence leadership as has long said stopping Iran from getting a nuclear weapon is a top priority.
