Click2Houston reports: A young mother is now facing serious charges after reportedly giving birth to a baby and then immediately throwing her offspring in a dumpster this past week.

Court documents show that 18-year-old Everilda Cux-Ajtzalam was arrested on July 23 and charged with a third-degree felony of abandoning a child without intent to return.

According to police, Cux-Ajtzalam allegedly gave birth to a baby on the ground behind a food truck where she was working in the 6020 block of Dashwood Drive.

After giving birth, court records state that the teenager tied the baby, placenta, and umbilical cord into a trash bag before placing it inside a nearby dumpster, leaving the baby behind.

Someone passing by heard the baby crying and called 911. First responders reportedly took it to the hospital.

The entire incident was caught on surveillance video. When officers confronted the girl, she claimed she had no choice but to throw the baby away, because she didn’t want her boyfriend to break up with her.

Click2Houston noted the girl is an illegal alien: “Cux-Ajtzalam is said to be a flight risk, having no ties to the country. She is currently in jail with a $90,000 bond.”
