Another boxer with alleged male chromosomes has pummeled a female competitor in the Olympic competitions, and left her in tears. The Daily Mail report below uses “she/her” pronouns to describe the boxer.
From the Daily Mail: A second boxer who ‘failed a gender test’ has won her opening fight in the Olympics after being cleared to compete in the event amid an eligibility row.
Taiwan’s Lin Yu-Ting put on a dominant display across three rounds at the North Paris Arena on Friday to storm to victory against Sitora Turdibekova of Uzbekistan. The 28-year-old showed off impressive striking and quick footwork to maintain dominance inside the ring and secure the unanimous decision victory.
Afterwards, her opponent Turdibekova was overcome with emotion and could not hold back the tears as they decision was read out inside the arena. The pair did not embrace or congratulate each other.
Lin is one of two boxers at the Games who were disqualified from the Women’s Boxing World Championships last year – with Algeria’s Imane Khelif win in the women’s welterweight event just 24 hours prior sparking an eligibility row.
In a separate report, Fox News wrote:
At the time of Lin’s disqualification, IBA President Umar Kremlev said, “Based on DNA tests, we identified a number of athletes who tried to trick their colleagues into posing as women.”
The IBA has since maintained that Lin’s disqualification was “justified” and stood by its decision.
Lin’s passport and medical background indicate that ‘she’ was born a female, the IOC insists.
Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk shared a video of the brutal match and wrote:
NEW—Unbelievable! Another day at the Paris Olympics and another MAN just pummeled and abused a WOMAN in a boxing match. Taiwans Lin Yu-Ting, a man who failed a gender test and was barred from competing in the 2023 World Championships, left Uzbekistan’s Sitora Turdibekova on the verge of tears.
Turdibekova REFUSED to shake hands with Taiwanese man after being humiliated and forced to fight him. Keep men out of women’s sports!! This is insanity.

Taiwan president Lai Ching-te defended the “winner,” writing, “As an avid sports fan, I have always admired the determination of our athletes—like our boxing contestant Lin Yu-ting 林郁婷, whose focus & discipline are truly inspiring. At #Paris2024 & beyond, we firmly & proudly support her & all #TeamTaiwan.”

Tsai Ing-wen, the former president of Taiwan, also wrote, “When I met boxer Lin Yu-ting 林郁婷, I saw an athlete who is fearless in the face of challenges, whether they come from inside or outside the ring. Today, when she represents #Taiwan on the Olympic stage, we will be behind her & all the Taiwanese Olympians making us proud.”

The grossly unequal match is prompting more outrage:
Lin Yu-ting, a Taiwanese boxer who was banned from the Women’s World Boxing Championships after testing positive for XY chromosomes just punched female boxer Sitora Turdibekova in the face on live TV.
He was declared the winner.

Meet Lin Yu-Ting. Lin was kicked out of the 2023 Women’s World Boxing Championship because he has XY chromosomes but the woke Olympics let him compete as a woman. Watch the video from his fight today + look at these photos and tell me that you think this is fair. This is absurd. pic.twitter.com/l8oC5PcvWC

Meanwhile, the liberal Associated Press published a report titled, “Vitriol about female boxer fuels concern of backlash against LGBTQ+ and women athletes.”
“LGBTQ+ athletes, officials and observers have warned that a deluge of hateful comments misidentifying a female boxer in the Paris Olympics as transgender or a man could pose dangers for the LGBTQ+ community and female athletes,” the AP wrote.
