From Fox News: Minnesota’s Democratic Gov. Tim Walz was blasted on social media after telling a group of Democrats that socialism is what some people would call “neighborliness.”
“Don’t ever shy away from our progressive values,” the Minnesota Democrat said on a “White Dudes for Harris” call on Monday night. “One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness.”
The comment was widely criticized by conservatives on Twitter, including Manhattan Institute senior fellow Ilya Shapiro, who responded on X with “weird,” a reference to recent Democratic attacks against GOP presidential candidate JD Vance and former President Trump.
Boston Globe columnist Jeff Jacoby share a video of the crass statement, and wrote, “Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz tells Harris supporters: “One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness.” That’s a fairy tale. The history of socialism is a history of mass slaughter, oppression, poverty, dictatorship, starvation, censorship, and brutality.”

People are getting shot in the streets of Venezuela right now as he’s speaking from the comfort of his home. Disgusting and vile

That’s what they are trying to tell the people in Venezuela, too.

Like Margaret Thatcher said, “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.” If this guy believes that’s “neighborliness,” I sure wouldn’t want to live on his street.
