From Fox News: The Dallas Police Department (DPD) has begun hosting a series of outreach meetings to inform immigrant communities that the agency will not take part in any deportation raids or arrests currently being carried out by the Trump administration.
At least five meetings are taking place, with the first kicking off on Wednesday and the remainder running through Feb. 20, according to the DPD Facebook page.
On Wednesday, DPD Interim Chief Michael Igo attempted to assuage fears running through local immigrant communities that the force will assist Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in its deportation efforts, which have ramped up under the Trump administration.
“The Dallas Police Department is not assisting any federal agency on detaining people that are either documented or undocumented in the city of Dallas,” Igo said to attendees at Familia Bethel Internacional church in Dallas, per CBS News.
Igo, who has been interim chief of police since October, told the Spanish-speaking parishioners that his department would not turn in or report anyone here illegally who calls 911 for help or is pulled over for traffic violations.
Igo released a video on Jan. 29 declaring that the Dallas Police would continue to “serve all residents” without regard to to “national origin,” and said it was up to the federal government to enforce immigration laws.

In a Facebook post, the Dallas Police Department announced their schedule for “listening sessions,” posting it in both English and Spanish.
Allen West, chair of the Dallas County GOP, reacted in fury, writing, “You want to know why local elections are important? Someone has told the Dallas Police to harbor criminal illegal immigrants, meaning City Manager by way of the City Council who selected the city manager. Dallasites can send a message in May that this is not acceptable. It’s my hope that anyone refusing cooperation with ICE be arrested and charged with a felony offense. Just remember, Tren de Aragua is operating in Dallas, and some collection of jackasses think that’s fine.”

Last week, the Dallas Police Department posted a notice begging for the public’s help to located a shooting suspect identified as 36-year-old Edgar Zamorano-Montes De Oca.
Illegal aliens are becoming more bold and brazen in Dallas. Last month, a group of illegal alien protesters taunted police with Mexican flags, while ripping down an American flag.

The City of Dallas also appears to be doubling down on ‘Diversity, Equity and Inclusion’ (DEI) and other woke initiatives.
An X account called ‘Keep Dallas Safe’ posted a photo Thursday and wrote, “Dallas spent $263,000 in federal funds on free tampons, and made sure to put the flyers in MEN’S RESTROOMS at libraries.
“This is DEI in action: wasting taxpayer money on nonsense while the city crumbles. Crime is rampant, police are short-staffed, and they’re focused on this.”

In another post, ‘Keep Dallas Safe’ wrote, “Meet Hai Tran, Dallas’ new DEI czar. While other cities scrap these useless roles, Dallas is doubling down. What does an “Equity and Inclusion” director actually do? No one knows. But we do know taxpayers are footing the bill for it.”

Here’s another wild one. Dallas DOGE announced, “Dallas approved a $6.3 million contract to count the city’s trees. They could have hired 36 police with that much cash.”
