Former president Barack Obama released his endorsement of Kamala Harris early Friday morning, after days of hyped-up speculation.
The endorsement came, not in a formal statement, but in a unique format. It was a video of a “phone call” between the Obamas and Harris, as she feigned surprise at hearing both Barack and Michelle on the other line.
“Oh my goodness. Michelle, Barack, this means so much to me,” Harris gushed while speaking into the phone. “I am looking forward to doing this with the two of you, Doug and I both, and getting out there, being on the road. But most of all, I just want to tell you the words you have spoken and the friendship that you have given over all these years mean more than I can express. So thank you both,” she added.
Obama posted the video on social media Friday morning and wrote, “Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend @KamalaHarris. We told her we think she’ll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in November. We hope you’ll join us.”

Michelle Obama also posted the video, and wrote, “I’m so proud of my girl, Kamala. Barack and I are so excited to endorse her as the Democratic nominee because of her positivity, sense of humor, and ability to bring light and hope to people all across the country. We’ve got your back, @KamalaHarris!

Many from the right are commenting on the video, ripping it to shreds. Below are just some of the comments being posted:
The rig is in. The most unliked candidate in America wouldn’t be endorsed by Barack Obama unless they 100% have a massive voter fraud system in place. You people are the worst traitors America has ever seen.

You successfully performed a silent coup against a sitting president and chose the most unlikeable women on planet Earth to take his place 🤣🤣

Less than two weeks ago you told the American public that Joe Biden just had a “bad debate” was all. You lied to the public, you had been with him at a fundraiser earlier that month and you still tried to tell the public he was fine. So nobody should believe you about this either
