VIDEO: Multiple Democrats condemn ‘we support Hamas’ chants at Queens protest

Multiple Democrat leaders are suddenly trying to distance themselves from those supporting the Hamas terror group, and are speaking out to condemn a pro-Hamas demonstration that took place in Queens, New York Thursday night, just outside a Jewish synagogue.

According to CBS News, the group Palestinian Assembly for Liberation organized a rally outside Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills yeshiva in protest of an event promoting real estate investments in Jerusalem.

The mob of protesters, standing behind barricades, were waving Palestinian flags and chanting, “Say it loud, say it clear, we support Hamas here.”

Across the street, another group were holding American and Israeli flags, and chanting, “USA! USA!”

NYPD officers were standing guard, keeping the two groups apart.

Surprisingly, multiple Democrats spoke out on social media to condemn the pro-Hamas chants, including Democrat Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, NY Gov. Kathy Hochul, NY Attorney General Letitia James, and more.

“Hey so marching into a predominantly Jewish neighborhood and leading with a chant saying “we support Hamas” is a disgusting and antisemitic thing to do. Pretty basic!” AOC wrote.

Republican activist Scott Presler replied, “The democrat party is just another wing of Hamas. These are your people. Own it.”

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer wrote, “Let’s be clear: Hamas is a terrorist organization committed to the destruction of Jews while imposing its brutal rule on Palestinians. Chanting support for Hamas is antisemitic and unacceptable. This hate must have no place in NYC, in the U.S. or around the world, and must be loudly condemned.”

New York Governor Kathy Hochul wrote, “Hamas is a terrorist organization that calls for the genocide of Jews. No matter your political beliefs, this type of rhetoric is disgusting, it’s dangerous, and it has no place in New York.”

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a Democrat Socialist Muslim who previously refused to condemn Hamas during his campaign, wrote on X, “As I said earlier today, chants in support of a terrorist organization have no place in our city. We will continue to ensure New Yorkers’ safety entering and exiting houses of worship as well as the constitutional right to protest.”

Former NYC Mayor Eric Adams wrote, “The chants heard yesterday in the heart of the Jewish community in Kew Gardens, Queens, in support of Hamas were vile and deliberate acts of intimidation meant to terrorize our Jewish community.

“NYC and state elected officials must condemn this immediately and unequivocally. Anything less is a failure of leadership. Silence leads to action. We must say it loud and clear: HAMAS AND THEIR SUPPORTERS ARE NOT WELCOME HERE.”

New York Attorney General Letitia James wrote, “Hamas is a terrorist organization. We do not support terrorists. Period.”

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) wrote, “Hamas is a terrorist organization committed to the murder of Jews. This hateful antisemitism has no place in our city and nation.”

New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin, also a Democrat, wrote, “Openly and proudly sympathizing with Hamas, especially while standing in the largely Jewish community of Kew Gardens Hills, stokes fear and division. I will continue to fight against vile antisemitism such as this, and I urge everyone to come together at this time to combat rising hatred in all its forms.”

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who has repeatedly broken with his Party to support Israel, also spoke out against the demonstration, in a more fierce rebuttal.

“These assholes in NYC proudly chant for Hamas in close proximity to a Jewish school and place of worship. This is menacing and intimidation. The Jewish community deserves relief and protection from these raging antisemites,” he wrote.

Actor Trevor Donovan also blasted the protesters.

“Free speech allows you to say what you want, but it also reveals exactly who you are. Imagine using that freedom to scream support for a terrorist organization and still thinking you’re the good guys… This isn’t politics. It’s a failure of basic humanity,” he wrote in a post on X.

Republicans are also speaking out, and noting this is a direct result of Democrats themselves.

New York Republicans wrote, “Another scene from Zohran Mamdani’s New York. Open, loud support for Islamic terrorism. Kathy Hochul bent the knee to these radicals. Never forget – and elect @NassauExec Bruce Blakeman to stand against Mamdani in November.”

House Homeland GOP wrote, “Hamas is responsible for the torture, kidnapping, and slaughter of innocent men, women, and children—including Americans. Antisemitism has become disturbingly commonplace and must be condemned wherever it is found. America should never be a haven for terrorist sympathizers—let alone a city that experienced the worst terror attack in U.S. history just over two decades ago.”

Journalist Eyal Yakoby wrote, “They told us for months that they’re pro-Palestinian not Hamas. The media and leftist politicians gaslit into you then believing it. The mask has completely come off.”
