Vice President Kamala Harris sparked criticism during her Labor Day rally in Detroit, Michigan, for what some are calling a new “accent.”
Speaking to blue-collar union workers in the key battleground state, Harris emphasized the importance of unions, saying, “You better thank a union member for the five-day work week, sick leave, paid leave, and vacation time,” with a noticeable shift in her dialect. The conservative X account Johnny MAGA shared a clip mocking her “Detroit speak” as “cringe and fake.”
