Bruce Springsteen launched his 2025 “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour in Manchester, England, with a pointed critique of President Trump.
During the opening night, Springsteen labeled Trump’s administration as “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous,” expressing concern over the direction of the United States under Trump’s leadership. He emphasized the role of music and art in challenging such governance, stating that the tour aimed to harness the “righteous power of art” in these challenging times.
Springsteen’s condemnation of Trump is consistent with his longstanding criticism of the president. In previous years, he has accused Trump of lacking empathy and understanding of American values. Notably, in 2020, Springsteen urged Trump to “put on a f***ing mask” during the COVID-19 pandemic, criticizing his handling of the pandemic.
