In a rare non-partisan congressional hearing, Secret Service director Director Kimberly Cheatle was raked over the coals Monday morning over the massive security failure that nearly got former President Donald Trump killed.

While Trump was speaking from the stage at the outdoor rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13, a 20-year-old gunman managed to climb to the roof of a nearby building and opened fire.  Trump was shot in the ear, and three other rally attendees were also shot – one fatally.

Many lawmakers, from both sides of the political aisle, are now calling for Cheatle’s resignation, and some are demanding she be fired.

BREAKING NEWS: After the hearing concluded, Chairman James Comer and Ranking Member Jamie Raskin wrote a bipartisan letter calling on Kimberly Cheatle to resign.

“Today you failed to provide answers to basic questions regarding that stunning operational failure and to reassure the American people that the Secret Service has learned its lessons and begun to correct its systemic blunders and failures. In the middle of a presidential election, the Committee and the American people demand serious institutional accountability and transparency that you are nto providing. We call on you to resign as Director as a first step to allowing new leadership to swiftly address this crisis and rebuild the trust of a truly concerned Congress and the American people,” they wrote.

During the hearing on Monday, Cheatle repeatedly dodged questions, claiming she couldn’t answer because the incident was still under investigation.  However, lawmakers pointed out that she has been freely speaking with the media.

Cheatle also had failed to submit her testimony to the committee ahead of the hearing, but somehow, multiple leftist media outlets had obtained it.  She claimed she didn’t know how her statement had been leaked to the media.

Cheatle finally admitted during the hearing that the security at the Trump rally was a “colossal failure,” and that the shooting was indeed “preventable.”

She also admitted she has not yet personally visited the site of the shooting.

Democrat Rep. Raja Krishnamo blasted Cheatle for not pausing the rally and getting Trump off the stage despite multiple suspicious activities by the gunman prior to the shooting, including rally attendees yelling about someone on the roof with a gun.

One of the most fiery and brutal takedowns was from Republican Rep. Nancy Mace (SC) who unleashed on the Secret Service director without mercy.

When Cheatle repeatedly dodge questions, Mace just lost it, yelling back, “This is Bulls**t! You are FULL of SH**!”

“Both sides of the aisle today have asked for your resignation. Would you like to use my five minutes to draft your resignation letter? Yes or no?” Mace demanded.

“No thank you,” Cheatle retorted.

“You’re full of shit today,” Mace declared again. “You’re just being completely dishonest.”

Republican Rep. Pat Fallon of Texas ripped into Cheatle for claiming there were no Secret Service agents on the roof of that particular building because it “too steep.” He pointed out that even a ramp for a wheelchair ramp could be sloped more than that roof was.

He also blasted Cheatle for not visiting the site, noting that the gunman had surveilled the site even more than Secret Service did.

“You should be fired immediately! Go back to guarding Doritos!” he yelled.

DEMS SCREAM FOR GUN CONTROL:

While Republicans lambasted Cheatle over the security failures, many Democrats also used the moment to push for gun control, but they too became furious at Cheatle for refusing to respond to their questions.

PROGRESSIVES GO OFF THE RAILS:

Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (@jasmineforus) suggests that Thomas Matthew Crooks was not considered a threat, resulting in almost assassinating Donald Trump because he was male and white. She claims that in America, black people are considered a threat, but white people are not, even when they are holding long guns at rallies. That might be why Secret Service agents did not act until it was too late.
