From Breitbart: Colorado’s Democratic Gov. Jared Polis and Oklahoma’s Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt are asking President Trump to let state governors control a core part of the nation’s immigration policy.
Polis, who has been one of the nation’s leading advocates for illegal aliens, and Stitt, who has often been soft on illegals, say they want Trump to allow them to hand out work permits to illegals, a task that is currently handled only by the federal government.
The left-wing Polis insisted that a majority of state governors support the idea of having more say in federal immigration policy, but especially when it comes to issuing work permits.
“Let us be able to grant those based on clean background checks … and that’ll help power our economic growth,” he said.
Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt, a Republican, is in on the deal too, calling for an easier system to give work visas to migrants in his state.
Breitbart recalls that, last August, Stitt claimed that he wanted to “create opportunities” for migrants in Oklahoma and to import workers to fill jobs.

In May of last year, Gov. Stitt argued why he wants the work visa program to be put back in control of the states, instead of the federal government.
America is the country that everyone wants to come to— we should be leveraging that to benefit our workforce.

While calling for more legal work visas to import migrant workers, Gov. Stitt has confirmed his support for ICE to fight against illegal immigration.
Law enforcement can’t do their job with one hand tied behind their back. Proud to announce new agreements with ICE to give our law enforcement the tools they need to fight against illegal immigration.
We will enforce the law. https://t.co/peipujSUXl
