From the New York Post: A former Houston mayoral appointee raged at a Texas girls camp for being “white-only’’ — hours after deadly flooding ripped through the facility, killing at least five little campers and leaving 11 more missing.
“I know I’m going to get cancelled for this, but Camp Mystic is a white-only girls’ Christian camp. They don’t even have a token Asian. They don’t have a token Black person. It’s an all-white, white-only conservative Christian camp,” Sade Perkins said in a widely condemned video on her private TikTok account.
“If you ain’t white you ain’t right, you ain’t gettin’ in, you ain’t goin’. Period,” Perkins said — as the state’s overall death toll from the devastating flooding soared, with the number of dead now at 80.
“If this were a group of Hispanic girls out there, this would not be getting this type of coverage that they’re getting, no one would give a f–k, and all these white people, the parents of these little girls would be saying things like ‘they need to be deported, they shouldn’t have been here in the first place’ and yada yada yada,” Perkins said.
Former Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner had appointed Perkins to the city’s Food Insecurity Board in 2023. Her term expired in January, and after her appalling video went viral, current Houston Mayor John Whitmire has stated that there are no plans to re-appoint Perkins to the position.

Perkins then posted a new video to her TikTok page, mocking the “white people using their white power to try to bring me down.”
She also launched into a profanity-laced tirade against Houston Mayor John Whitmire.
On Perkins’ original video, she is also being slammed by many non-whites, who are pushing back on her claims that Camp Mystic is for “whites only.” Below is just a sampling of the backlash:
I am a black woman and mom of two but this is wrong girl! My God can we leave the race card and be human. These children don’t deserve this and yes NO PARENT should mourn a child regardless of their colour or race. May God heal your soul.

I was born in Mexico (US citizen now) and I went to camp mystic. Yes, it’s is a majority of white girls but I was accepted with open arms. This is not the time to do this girl.
Racism exists because of people like you. Camp Mystic is a private GIRL’S camp. It doesn’t specify “white only”. Why don’t you call it what it really is. You’re a Democratic liberal that has a problem with deporting illegals.
As a black woman, this is just wrong. The “context” is what it is – CHILDREN involved in a tragic situation. White, Black, or Hispanic. We can have sympathy.
Who are you mad at?? Ypu wanna be mad at black Christian parents in TX who didn’t send their daughters to the camp that got flooded? You mad the flood didn’t take out a predominantly black girl’s camp? What are you doing??
It’s shit like this that makes me sad to to be black. Like do we always have to cry victim! Maybe if we weren’t always fueling stereotypes we’d be allowed in more spaces. My prayers are with the families of not only those little girls but all who were affected. 🙏💗🙏
