From the Daily Mail: Elon Musk has sensationally revealed the devastating cyberattack that took down his social media app X on Monday seemingly originated in Ukraine.

His bombshell revelation followed repeated glitches with the site, which has been down for much of the day.

‘Well, we’re not sure exactly what happened,’ Musk told Fox Business Network on Monday afternoon.

‘But there was a massive cyber attack to try to bring down the X system with IP addresses originating in the Ukraine area.’

Musk had announced at 1:25 pm ET Monday, “There was (still is) a massive cyberattack against 𝕏. We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved. Tracing …”

Below is a video of the entire interview, as Musk spoke to Fox Business host Larry Kudlow Monday afternoon.  It’s worth a watch:

It is ironic that the cyberattacks are coming from Ukraine, as Musk has been providing his Starlink services to Ukraine ever since the Russia invasion three years ago.

Musk addressed this over the weekend, when he was accused of supporting Putin.

“I literally challenged Putin to one on one physical combat over Ukraine and my Starlink system is the backbone of the Ukrainian army. Their entire front line would collapse if I turned it off. What I am sickened by is years of slaughter in a stalemate that Ukraine will inevitably lose. Anyone who really cares, really thinks and really understands wants the meat grinder to stop. PEACE NOW!!” he wrote on Saturday.

Musk was then accused of threatening to shut down Starlink for Ukraine.

Musk fired back, “To be extremely clear, no matter how much I disagree with the Ukraine policy, Starlink will never turn off its terminals. I am simply stating that, without Starlink, the Ukrainian lines would collapse, as the Russians can jam all other communications! We would never do such a thing or use it as a bargaining chip.”
