From Fox News: President Donald Trump is slated to deliver the State of the Union address on Tuesday night, but Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff of California said he will skip the speech for the first time.
In a video posted on Saturday, Schiff accused the president of running afoul of the “law and Constitution.”
“He is ignoring court orders. He has weaponized the Justice Department to go after his enemies. He is letting loose ICE troops in our streets that are getting people killed,” Schiff said.
“I’ve never missed one. I have always gone both to inaugurations and to States of the Union. But we cannot treat this as normal. This is not business as usual. I will not give him the audience he craves for the lies that he tells,” Schiff said.
Instead of attending the president’s State of the Union address, the Democrat senator declared he will join many other Democrats to participate in the People’s State of the Union event being held by to far-left groups, MeidasTouch and MoveOn.org.

Many Republicans are responding by declaring they don’t want Schiff at the State of the Union address anyway.
“You won’t be missed, no need to announce your departure,” one X user declared.
“Can I have your seat?” asked retired journalist Andy Pargh.
“Thank you for skipping. It will make the SOTU that much better. Try to convince some of your peers to skip, too,” another person suggested.
Nuclear scientist Matt Van Swol wrote, “Well… I’ll be there, and I’m not sad I won’t see you. I remember what you did during the last SOTU… you sat and refused to clap for DJ Daniel. I’ve never forgotten that, I hope they give your seat away to someone who is grateful. I cannot wait to see my president.”
