VIDEO: Cory Booker rages against Trump in 21-hour Senate floor stunt, staffer arrested for carrying gun on Capitol grounds

From the New York Post: Capitol Police arrested a staffer for Sen. Cory Booker who was carrying a gun Monday evening, hours after the New Jersey Democrat kicked off a marathon “filibuster” speech in the upper chamber.

“Yesterday afternoon a Member of Congress led an IDed staff member around security screening at the Hart Senate Office Building. Later that evening, outside the Senate Galleries, the IDed staff member — who is a retired law enforcement officer — told our officers he was armed,” a rep for US Capitol Police said in a statement Tuesday.

“The staff member, 59-year-old Kevin A. Batts of New Jersey, was arrested for Carrying a Pistol Without a License. All weapons are prohibited from Capitol Grounds, even if you are a retired law enforcement officer, or have a permit to carry in another state or the District of Columbia.”

Citizen journalist Kristi Talmadge pointed this is the “party of gun control.”

Meanwhile, Booker is holding a marathon ‘filibuster’ stunt on the Senate floor. He started out at 7:00 p.m.ET Monday night, and is still going, as of 4:00 p.m.ET. Tuesday afternoon. He says he’s doing it to draw attention “to what Donald Trump is doing to our nation.”

Ahead of his speech, Booker recorded a video and scheduled it to post at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

“It’s been over 13 hours since I started speaking, and I intend to stay on the Senate floor as long as I’m physically able. I’m here to do my job, as a Senator from New Jersey, to lift the voices of Americans who are being harmed by President Trump. I’m am speaking up,” he wrote.

During his rant, Booker parroted the false claim that so many Democrats have repeatedly pushed out: “The Trump Administration and Republicans in Congress are putting profits over people. They are trying to gut Medicaid and Medicare, programs on which nearly a third of our country rely –– all to pay for tax cuts to billionaires and corporations.”

Holding the Senate hostage and preventing other business, Booker is still going on the Senate floor, ranting and raving against President Trump, although he is now appearing a bit wobbly, as of 4:00 p.m. ET.

Booker’s rant has been filled with allegations and complaints against Trump. He’s even gone so far back as to drag up Trump’s old conflict with the late Sen. John McCain.

Booker has also resorted to preaching, quoting Bible verses and touting his Christian faith.

Everyone once in a while, Booker announces he is yielding for a question while retaining the floor.  Fellow Democrat Sen. Tammy Duckworth (Ill.) and other Democrats have been helping him out by adding additional commentary during the “question” sessions.

4. Rooting out fraud & waste

It’s no wonder Democrats have 27% approval rating.

Prominent X user Sara Rose wrote, “😳 Oh. My. God. Cory Booker has been on the Senate floor for almost 20 hours, and has absolutely lost whatever brain cells he had left. His eyes are those of an unhinged meth addicted lunatic. He’s OFFICIALLY lost his shit 🤣 .”

Eric Daugherty of Florida Voice News wrote:
