From Fox News: Anti-Trump anchor Jim Acosta was left off CNN’s new weekday programming lineup when it was announced on Thursday.
Acosta’s 10 a.m. ET program was replaced with “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown” in the network’s latest reshuffling. CNN has moved around its hosts and anchors several times over the past few years, but the latest shakeup seems to leave Acosta in limbo.
“We are in active discussions with Jim about a new time slot and will have more information to share soon,” a CNN spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
Other shifts include Jake Tapper being moved to a two-hour slot from 5-7 p.m. ET, while CNN’s primetime lineup of Anderson Cooper, Kaitlan Collins and Abby Phillip is unchanged from 8-11 p.m. ET.
It was first reported in the Status newsletter last week that Acosta was pitched by CNN CEO Mark Thompson to move him from his one-hour slot at 10 a.m. ET to a two-hour slot beginning at midnight, a far less distinguished place in the lineup.
The New York Post then cited multiple sources as saying Acosta is threatening to quit CNN rather than accept a new time slot that would see him moved from late mornings to the “graveyard shift.”
During Trump’s first term in office, Acosta engaged in rude confrontations with Trump at nearly every press briefing.

Acosta just got roasted on Wednesday by Rep. Tim Burchette (R-Tenn.).
Acosta: “This is this is not Fox, congressman. You can’t just spin a tale and pull the wool over people’s eyes. This is CNN. This is the news. We are asking you to come on and tell the truth.”
Burchett: “And that’s why more people are watching the Cartoon Network, Spongebob reruns right now. Jim, look, I left the White House during a riot. My life was threatened. My life has been threatened within the last few weeks, yet there’s no coverage of that. And you all continue this, this narrative of attacking Trump. You just can’t stand the fact that he won and that America spoke and that your view is very diminished.”
Acosta: “That’s not the case at all!”
Burchett: “And your view is very diminished!”
