From Fox News: Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., forced a name change for President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” moments before the legislative package passed the upper chamber of Congress.
While Sen. Pete Ricketts, R-Neb., was chairing the Senate, Schumer raised a point of order against lines three to five on the first page of the legislative proposal that said, “SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ‘’One Big Beautiful Bill Act.'”
Schumer argued the title of the bill violated Section 313 B1A of the Congressional Budget Act of 1974, or what’s commonly referred to as the “Byrd Rule.”
Ricketts said the point of order was sustained, meaning that text will be stricken from the bill.
Schumer then bragged, “I just forced Republicans to delete their ridiculous bill name. It’s no longer named the “One Big Beautiful Bill.” Nothing about this bill is beautiful—it’s a betrayal to American families, and it’s undeserving of such a stupid name.”

Social media users are mocking Schumer over the name change.
“Boy you really accomplished something. Pat yourself on the back,” one person quipped.
“Such an accomplishment!” another mocked.
“I…I just don’t know what to say except I cannot effing believe you tweeted this. Would you like a medal? A participation trophy? Step down,” wrote X user Colleen.
In a raging speech on the Senate floor, Schumer fumed, “Today’s vote will haunt Senate Republicans for years to come. Americans will see the damage done as hospitals close, as people are laid off, as costs go up, and as the debt increases. Democrats will make sure Americans remember the betrayal that took place today!”
