From Daily Mail: More than 3.6 million hoses sold at retailers including Amazon, Target and Walmart have been recalled.
The move comes after 222 reports of hoses bursting, causing 29 injuries — including bruises, two sprained bones and five cases of temporary hearing loss. It relates to the HydroTech 5/8-inch Expandable Burst-Proof Hose sold by Winston Products.
The products sold were through August 31, 2024 in lengths of 25, 50, 60, 75, 100 and 200 feet.
Affected products can be identified with the these codes: -211, -212, -213, -214, -221, -222, -223, -224, -231, -232, -233, -234, -241, -242 or -243. These are visible when the black rubber washer is removed.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has advised consumers to immediately stop using the hoses and contact Winston Products for a full refund.
