The two Air Canada pilots killed in the horrific crash at LaGuardia Airport in New York Sunday night have now been identified.

The crash occurred when a fire truck was in the process of crossing the runway as the plane, carrying 72 passengers and 4 crew members, was coming in to land.

The first pilot was identified as 30-year-old Antoine Forest, from Coteau-du-Lac in Quebec, Canada. He had reportedly flown his first plane when he was 16 years old.

The second pilot was identified as MacKenzie Gunther, who was serving as the first officer on Air Canada Express Flight 646 from Montreal on Sunday night.

The two pilots worked for Jazz Aviation LP, which was operating as Air Canada Express. They were both killed upon impact when the jet’s nose crashed into the side of the fire truck directly in its path on the runway.

The plane was believed to have been traveling at approximately 150mph when it hit the truck.

Among those injured in the crash was flight attendant Solange Tremblay, who was thrown 330 feet from the plane, while still strapped into her seat. Her daughter said Tremblay suffered a broken leg that will require surgery, but is expected to survive.
