After initiating a public brawl on social media with President Donald Trump on Thursday, billionaire Elon Musk began softening by Thursday night, and reportedly wanted a phone call with the president.

But President Trump, stung by the attack from his once-close ally, is having none of it, and said in a telephone interview that he “won’t be speaking to him for a while.”

Trump took a call from CNN’s Dana Bash Friday morning, and told her, “I’m not even thinking about Elon. He’s got a problem. The poor guy’s got a problem.”

“I won’t be speaking to him for a while, I guess, but I wish him well,” Trump added.

Bash said Trump didn’t sound angry, but seemed more resigned about the downfall of the relationship.

ABC News correspondent Jon Karl also called President Trump about his break-up with Musk.

Trump told Karl he’s “not particularly” interested in talking to Elon Musk, and called him a “man who has lost his mind.”

Karl noted that Trump has shown remarkable restraint after the “nuclear” attack by Musk.

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles has confirmed President Trump will not be calling Musk on Friday.

And about that red Tesla car that President Donald Trump bought from Musk to try to boost his business when liberals were attacking Tesla cars and dealerships across the country… Fox News reporter Peter Doocy said Trump plans to either sell it off or give it away.

The car has been kept on the White House grounds, and Trump has allowed White House staff to use it.

White House assistant Margo Martin and Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt had just taken the red Tesla out for a spin last week:

In a defiant tone, Musk still has pinned to the top of his X page a poll he created on Thursday, which asks, “Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle?”

The results so far are 80.5% yes and 19.5% no.
